Strawberries Health Benefits

I remember going to a Strawberry Festival when I was a kid with my Grandparents in Bobcaygeon, ON. I remember having strawberry shortcake. It was so good. However, as a kid, I didn’t realize that strawberries were good for me. Strawberries health benefits are really worth looking into.
1. Strawberries health benefits are quite powerful. Did you realize that strawberries were so good for you?
Me – I never realized strawberries health benefits were so powerful. I have heard that strawberries fight cancer.
Jen – I had an idea that strawberries health benefits were so powerful. Aside from fighting cancer strawberries also provide dietary fibres, help to prevent degeneration of muscles, and helps to fight bacteria in your body that can cause infections. These are just some of the strawberries health benefits and don’t include many of the other vitamins and minerals that strawberries contain.
Me – Guess I should be eating more strawberries for sure!!!
Jen- Yes definitely!
2. Do you like strawberries?
Me – Strawberries health benefits have made me realize that I should be eating more of them. Strawberries are very tasty and sweet.
Jen – Even before learning about strawberries health benefits I have always loved eating strawberries.
Me – I think some strawberry ice cream or hey, how about strawberry cheesecake!!! Yummy, yummy yummy!!!
Jen – Sounds delicious but so unhealthy. I don’t know if you would get the strawberries health benefits from eating commercially preassembled packaged foods.
Me – Boy, you are getting pretty technical with your words hee hee!!!
Jen – That’s what an education does for you.
Me – Okay smarty pants. I went to college too!!!
Jen – Hahaha, I wasn’t insinuating anything.
3. What is your favourite strawberry dish?
Me – My favourite strawberry dish is strawberries cut up in a bowl with a spoonful of sugar on them. I also love strawberry shortcake with a little bit of whip cream on top.
Jen – I love vanilla ice cream with sliced strawberries on top, strawberry milkshakes, and eating strawberries by themselves. I noticed that most of our favourite strawberry dishes aren’t very healthy. When we are trying to eat foods for health benefits we should be eating them the healthiest way possible. The best way to eat strawberries would be to eat them by themselves.
Me – I find strawberries are just so tart when you eat them by themselves though.
Jen – Tart? I don’t think I would ever describe strawberries as tart.
Me – Maybe you have never eaten one that isn’t quite ripe.
Jen – Maybe your just not supposed to consume strawberries that aren’t quite ripe. And when do you ever get strawberries that aren’t quite ripe at a grocery store?
Me – I always seem to get at least a couple in the batch that aren’t quite ripe.
4. What is your favourite fruit besides strawberries?
Me – I would have to say that bananas are my absolute favourite fruit to eat. I love banana splits, peanut butter and banana sandwiches and banana cream pies.
Jen – I do love almost all fruits but my absolute favourite would have to be blueberries. They are delicious on their own.
Me – I am not much of a blueberry eater, although I do love blueberry pie. Boy, this is making me hungry.
Jen – Still not very healthy though.
Me – But I want junk food hee hee!!!
Jen – Hahaha! Did you know that when you start eating healthier you don’t crave junk food quite as much as you did before. You start to crave the healthier foods for the most part.
Me – I don’t know what planet I am on then, because I always crave junk food even when I eat healthy.
Jen – Either you don’t eat healthy healthy when you think you do or you don’t give it enough time before you give in to your junk food cravings. You also need to use some will power.
5. What are your final thoughts on strawberries health benefits?
Me – I think it is really good that something as plentiful as strawberries can help with cancer. Cancer is affecting so many lives. I definitely will start eating more strawberries.
Jen – I agree with you on this one. We should all be eating a lot more strawberries but you need to be eating them as healthily as possible. Eating strawberries as much as possible in one of the dishes we mentioned above will only help you to add on the pounds.
Me – But I love strawberry cheesecake!!!
Jen -Strawberry cheesecake is so much more unhealthy than everything else you have mentioned so far!
Me – It might be unhealthy, but so so good!!!
Jen – I will agree with you there.
